Abbey Park Road Bridge and Bridge 10

Due to unexpected delays, we have had to extend these works by approximately 3 weeks. 

We aim to be finished by the 2nd December.

Our Contractors will be continuing to undertake the construction of timber retaining walls to the rear of the towpath to permit a widened tarmac towpath with tar spray and chip surfacing between Abbey Road Park Bridge and Bridge 10. 

There will also be some small-scale environmental enhancements constructed where suggested by the Framework Ecologist. 

These works are part of the LGF funded P/10088 Leicester LGF Towpath works, a section of which has already been completed to the south of Abbey Park Road bridge.

Contractors will be using floating plant to carry out the works planned.  Boats will be loaded/unloaded at the site compound and welfare facilities which are to be located on 3rd party land adjacent to Leicester Community Arena at Charter Street, gaining access to the canal at Memory Lane Arm.
