The towpath will re-open today, 7th September, in time for the Rochdale Canal Festival at the weekend and will re-close from next Wednesday, 14th September through to Friday 23rd December so that the works here can carry on.
Description
The towpath between Castlefields Viaduct and Tib Lock is closed to facilitate construction works adjacent to the canal at lock 90. The works are being carried out by third party contractors who have installed a signed diversion route for pedestrians via the public footways from Tib Lock to Castlefields Viaduct – both access points together with the diversion route are suitable for disabled users. Please Note: The access point from Witworth Street will not be available for the duration of the works.
