The works to fix the fault with the motor have now been completed.
The gate is once again working and boaters can now use the lock without restriction.

The works to fix the fault with the motor has taken longer than originally anticipated.
We aim to have the gate working again by 5:00pm today.
Please proceed with caution, as this restriction will prevent access to the lock for any craft of a beam over 3.66m or 12ft.
Description
The downstream, towpath side gate is temporarily out of action at Newark Town Lock, due to a fault with one of the motors.
This will prevent access to the lock for any craft of a beam over 3.66m or 12ft
Boaters are asked to proceed with caution, and we aim to have the gate working again by tomorrow afternoon.
