Replacement of approach walls and abutments, with timber bridge deck removed for repairs.
During the planned stoppage and restoration works, the CRT Engineers have found extensive voids and missing brickwork that were not previously known. Whilst these extra repairs will be undertaken, it will result in a minor overrun of the works completing on time.
It is our intention to have the canal in water by 21st Dec 2016, as previously published, but there will now likely be delays / restrictions to all navigation traffic on 22nd and 23rd December whilst work boats are operating in the area and lifting of the bridge deck takes place. We will try to escort any waiting boats through the worksite within a 3-hour arrival time at the bridge.
