Updates

25/04/2016 10:25

Works to replace the damaged cill have now taken place, with concreting works completed late yesterday afternoon. The concrete will need a day to set and we aim to have Lock 62 open to navigation again tomorrow morning (26 April 2016).

22/04/2016 15:34

Lock 62 has been de-watered and silt removal works have commenced. There is a large amount of silt in the lock and this will take time to fully remove. Following this, the cill will be removed, cleaned and then fixed back in to position.

A progress update will be issued on Monday 25 April 2016.

20/04/2016 17:06

The team have been investigating the problem and an issue with the cill has been identified.

An update will be issued on Friday 21 April.

Description

An issue has been identified at Lock 62, Johnson's Hillocks on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal which requires de-watering for investigations. As such, the navigation will be closed until further notice.

An update will be issued later today.
