The scaffolding at Bridge 27, Nether Railway Bridge on the River Trent has been removed.

15/11/2023 15:06

Third Party contractors, AMCO GIFFEN, on behalf of Network Rail, continue to carry out work to refurbish and improve Nether Railway bridge 27 on the River Trent at Newark. There has been a slight delay in completion due to the recent flooding we have experienced.

This work involves essential bridge / rail structural improvements and refurbishment incorporating the erecting of a temporary scaffold.

A scaffold is erected above the navigation which requires the use of a pontoon for scaffold assembly / disassembly. There is reduced headroom for boats passing under the scaffold.

Boats should continue to pass the works slowly and be aware of the reduced headroom under the bridge.

There will be potential delays of up to 30 minutes for passing boats to allow contractors to cease works and clear the navigation. The scaffolding is now due to be removed by the 15th of December and we will update the notice accordingly.
