Our dredging contractors will be mobilising equipment via Endon on Wednesday. Dredging is then scheduled to commence on Thursday 27th April.

We will issue a further update on Friday 28th April.

Description

A sand bank had washed in from the River section below Lock 16 on the Caldon Canal 10 days ago, making the canal here unnavigable.

Unfortunately this section will remain unnavigable for this week while we are working on assembling a dredging team to clear the silt here. We will post an update as soon as we receive a timeframe for when dredging works can start.
