Brighouse Bottom Lock gates - Inoperable due to structural damage

Repairs have been completed and Brighouse Bottom Lock will reopen from 4pm Thursday 26th January.

Anchor Pit Flood Lock gates will also reopen at same time.

Repairs have commenced today with a target completion date end of Friday 27th January.

Until then the lock remains closed.

Canal and River Trust apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.

This notice will be update when there are any changes to report.

The downstream gates on the Brighouse Bottom Lock are currently inoperable due to structural damage.

We are awaiting on an engineer to assess the damage to the gates and we will update the notice when we have an outcome from the site visit.
