Updates

31/10/2022 11:31

We have now cleared the tree and it is no longer causing an obstruction to either the towpath or the navigation.

28/10/2022 12:01

Our local team have now attended site and we can confirm that the tree is between Bridge 13A, Claytons Bridge and Bridge 13B, Clifton Boulevard.

The tree is blocking the towpath and people cannot currently get past.

It is partially blocking the navigation, which means only narrowboats can currently travel past it.

We have requested urgent attendance from our contractors, and we are waiting for details of when they can attend site.

As soon as we have more information, we will update the website accordingly.

Description

A tree has come down, blocking the towpath and part of the Nottingham Beeston Canal. It is located just past Castle Marina and near the Water's Edge Pub.

Customers cannot currently get past on the towpath, but boats are still able to get by and are just asked to proceed with caution.

Our local team are attending site now to assess the situation and as soon as we have more information with regards the removal of the tree, we will update the website accordingly.
