We've got a bigger than ever programme of winter works this year, and to allow us to complete them all before the spring, we need to deliver this short stoppage slightly ahead of our traditional stoppage season..
Our Direct Services team will be working to replace the top end single gate, cills and beams at Ashted Lock 2, on the east side of Birmingham city centre.
We'd like to apologise for the relatively short notice for these works, but we hope that you'll notice the difference at these locks, which will be back open for 5th November. Alternative routes between Birmingham and the south are available via Salford Junction or Kings Norton Junction.
