Boundary Lock to Norwood Tunnel will be reopened for navigation at 9am, Monday 6th February.

Please note, without regular rainfall, with very limited water resources in our reservoirs we may have to close the section at short notice.

Description

Low rainfall and diminishing reservoir levels mean we have no option but to close the Chesterfield Canal from Boundary Lock 41 upstream as we are unable to provide enough water to accommodate boat movements. The closure will commence on the 12th August. We will continue to assess water resources and advise on reopening when supplies are sufficient to ensure boat passage.
