Updates

The footbridge is now open as the temporary repairs have been carried out.

Permanent decking has been sourced and we will be looking to install this in the winter months.

We will put out a further notice when the permanent decking works will take place later on in the year.

A welder is attending site on Thursday to measure up the beams, and deck panels are being sourced.

An update will be provided when we have further information.

Description

Following engineering advice, Bingley 5-rise swing bridge has been taken out of use and locked in the 'canal open' position.

A pedestrian diversion route is in place via Bingley 3-rise for non-boating customers.

Navigation is unaffected and boat crews are welcome to use the lock bridges within the Bingley 5-rise lock area.

A plan for temporary repair is being developed and a further update will be provided by Tuesday 31st May 2022.
