Kennet & Avon Canal - Lock 54, Cadley Lock, to Lock 55, Crofton Top Lock

Please be advised that due to pump failure we have made the unfortunate decision to close the Summit pound to navigation. Cadley Lock (54) and Crofton Top Lock (55) will be locked. This is a temporary notice until we are satisfied that water levels have recovered for safe navigation.

Engineers are on site. We will update this notice once we have further information.

Cadley Lock (54) and Crofton Top Lock (55) will close at 16:30 and reopen at 08:00 each morning to help us recover potential water shortfalls in our busiest period.

Please be advised that to maintain navigation throughout the year, we will start active water management on the summit pound from 6th June until 1st October 2022.

Cadley Lock (54) and Crofton Top Lock (55) will close at 16:30 and reopen at 08:00 each morning to help us recover potential water shortfalls in our busiest period.

We will monitor water levels continuously throughout this period, however please note further restrictions may apply.
