We are sorry for the lack of notice for the update. We need to advise our customers that an extension is required to this stoppage. This is due to high water levels and the lock being flooded out. The lock needed to be pumped out on several mornings before work could begin which has delayed progress. The balance beams have now been fitted. The team are now fitting the new gates. Once the new gates have been fitted, the team need to ensure that the gates are watertight and fully operational. This stoppage will now end on 01/03/2023. Our team on site have been doing their utmost to catch up with these works by working longer days.

We would like to advise that we have needed to padlock the gates at Lock 62 to help with water control. When the lock is being used, it is sending water to our team working on Lock 63 which will impact on their works. The padlocks will be removed when the stoppage is complete on 24/02/2023.
