We are pleased to advise the repair to re-attach the buffer plate at Lock 74 on the Trent & Mersey Canal is now complete and navigation has resumed without restriction.

Please be advised navigation is currently closed at Lock 74 on the Trent & Mersey Canal whilst we carry out works to re-attach the buffer plate.
We anticipate these works will take 4 and a half hours.
A further update will be provided this afternoon.

Our team will be onsite early next week to repair the buffer plate which remains out of place at Lock 74 on the Trent & Mersey canal.
Whilst navigation is still possible, we advise all customers to proceed with caution.

Our local team continue to plan a method of repair to be able to re-install the buffer plate and a further update will be provided by Tuesday, 7 June.

Our local team have developed a safe system of work with the design team to be able to re-install the buffer plate and are awaiting the paperwork to be signed off. We anticipate work will begin next week and an update will be provided by Friday, 3 June.
