We would like to advise that navigation is now back open and the lock is fully operational. We thank you for you understanding in our need to extend this stoppage.
Please note that there will be some materials fenced off on the lock side. These do not affect the operation on of the lock and the materials and fencing will be removed form site by Friday 6th January 2023.

We are very sorry to advise that this stoppage must be extended over the weekend due to challenges with getting the crane on site that is needed to help demobilise the stoppage.
The team have been trying every possible avenue to get the crane on site as there have been restrictions imposed by the Local Highways and Network rail to the road bridge across the railway. This restriction on the road bridge has meant that the crane was not able to get to site in time to demobilise the stoppage this afternoon as planned.
The team will be using a different method of works to demobilise site without the crane which means that the navigation will not be open until midday on Monday 19th December. We hope that this change doesn't cause any inconvenience.
