Navigation Closure: Lock 24W, Huddersfield Narrow Canal

Please be advised this lock is now closed due to an issue at Lock 30W on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal.

Padlocks have been placed on Lock 24W and Lock 32W of the lock flight. For updates on this closure, please click here:

Please be advised, due to the operating times being implemented between Lock 24W and Lock 32W from 9 May, passage through Lock 24W during the dredging works between 16 May and 20 May has been amended and will now be available daily at the following times:

• 8am – 9am
• 1pm – 2pm
• 4pm – 5pm

Please note, this is not an assisted passage. The car park at Wool Road Services will be closed for the duration of these works to allow safe crane operation.

Signage will be placed onsite prior to the closure of the car park. 

Please be advised, we will be carrying out dredging works below Lock 24W on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal starting Monday 16 May, which are expected to take up to 5 working days.

Navigation will remain open, however, to maintain a safe working environment, passage through Lock 24W will be available daily at the following times:

• 8am – 9am
• 12pm – 1pm
• 4pm – 5pm
