6 metres below Lock 16 Oakmeadowford Lock, Caldon Canal

Our contractors have now dredged this section and the sand bank has been cleared.  Navigation is therefore open again through this location.

A sand bank has washed in from the river section below Lock 16 on the Caldon Canal. This part of the canal is unnavigable until the section has been dredged and sand bank is cleared. Our dredging team are working to resolve this problem and we will provide a further update as soon as possible.
