Towpath Advice: Bridge 18 to Bridge 19, Lancaster Canal

Contractors remain onsite to complete re-instatement works close to the two site compound locations either side of Bridge 17, Cottam Hall Bridge on the Lancaster Canal.

Towpath access has been maintained, with barriers in place to identify the working areas. We politely request all customers to approach the areas with caution and listen to any advice given by the contractors onsite.

The works will be complete by Friday 8 April.

We are pleased to advise towpath access has resumed between Bridge 18, Malt Kiln Bridge and Bridge 19, Quakers Bridge on the Lancaster Canal following towpath improvement works.

Due to the impact from the recent weather we have experienced, the towpath improvement works are still progressing between Bridge 18, Malt Kiln Bridge and Bridge 19, Quakers Bridge on the Lancaster Canal and the towpath remains closed.

Whilst canal navigation remains open, we politely request all customers to approach the area with caution and listen to any advice that may be given by our contractors.

A further update will be provided Friday 25 February.

Please be advised the towpath remains closed between Bridge 18, Malt Kiln Bridge and Bridge 19, Quakers Bridge on the Lancaster Canal to be able to lay the new towpath surface in a safe and controlled environment.

Whilst navigation remains open, we politely request all customers to approach the area with caution and listen to any advice that may be given by our contractors.

Please be advised that our contractors will be onsite between Bridge 18, Malt Kiln Bridge and  Bridge 19, Quakers Bridge on the Lancaster Canal carrying out the towpath surface improvements. 

The towpath will be closed for the safety of our users and contractors.  An alternative pedestrian route will be available. 

Although the navigation will remain open, we politely ask customers to approach the area with caution and listen to any advice that may be given by our contractors.
