The maintenance work on Guillotine Lock, Kings Norton is taking longer than expected. The towpath closure will be extended to Friday 15th October.

The towpath will reopen on weekends for public access on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd October as well as Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th October; and close again on the Mondays for works to be resumed. Please take care when following the diversion route.

The towpath works has been rescheduled due to resources availability issues. The works will now take place between and Monday 20th September and 1st October.

The towpath will reopen on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th September for public access and closed again on Monday 27th September for works to be resumed. Please take care when following the diversion route.

Description

A section of towpath between Kings Norton Junction (Bridge 72) and access point at Tunnel Lane will be closed when our contractors carry out maintenance work on Guillotine Lock, Kings Norton. 

During this period, the towpath will be open for public use on Saturday 11th September and Sunday 12th September; and close again on Monday 13th September for works to be resumed. We are working closely with our contractors and aim to reopen the towpath as soon as works are complete. A diversion for towpath users will be in place. We kindly remind customers to take extra care when following diversions to re-join towpath.

The navigation is unaffected and will remain open throughout. Please take care when passing the work area.
