The navigation is now fully open and no booking is required.
The bridge has now been removed.

On Thursday September 2nd the Trust and its contractors will be removing Bridge 6.
Before and during the lifting process, the canal will be closed between Locks 1 and 12 and re-opened completely afterwards.

The towpath will be periodically closed during the bridge removal and staff will be on site to advise.

Bookings for escorted passage through the lock flight before bank holiday weekend, must be made by 3pm today.
Bookings for bank holiday weekend (Saturday 28th - Tuesday 31st), must be made before 3pm on Friday 27th August.
We will review the system on our return after bank holiday weekend and will update the website accordingly.

Description
The Navigation on the Rothersthorpe Flight on the Northampton Arm will be restricted between Locks 1 and 12 until further notice, due to the recent report of the weak Bridge (Bridge 6, Alcotts).
Escorted passage will be available when resources are available, generally in the afternoons.
