We are pleased to advise the towpath between the Ribble Link Basin and Bridge 17, Cottam Hall Bridge on the Lancaster Canal is now open following the completion of this section of the towpath resurfacing works.

Please be advised the towpath is now closed between the Ribble Link Basin and Bridge 17, Cottam Hall Bridge on the Lancaster Canal to be able to finalise the towpath resurfacing works in a controlled and safe environment.

An update will be provided by Friday 28 January.

Please be advised, due to the delays of the towpath surfacing works elsewhere on the project, the towpath is still restricted between the Ribble Link Basin and Bridge 17, Cottam Hall Bridge on the Lancaster Canal.

We politely request all customers to approach the area with caution and to listen to any advice that may be given onsite. These works are now anticipated to be complete on Thursday 23 December.

Please note these works have been extended from Bridge 16, Cottam Mill Bridge to Bridge 16A Tom Benson Way to incorporate some additional works.

The towpath will remain restricted with signage installed onsite. Towpath users may be required to wait a short while whilst contractors make way for a safe passage.

Please note, due to resource issues with our contractors, these works have been unable to start.

These works will now take place from Wednesday 15 September, till, and inclusive of Friday 24 September.

Description

Please be advised that our contractors will be onsite between Bridge 16 and the towpath bridge at Ribble Link Basin on the Lancaster Canal carrying out the towpath surface improvements.

The towpath will be restricted and signage will be in place.  Towpath users may be required to wait for a short time until directed to safely pass.  

Although the navigation will remain open, we politely ask customers to approach the area with caution and listen to any advice that may be given by our contractors.
