19/11/2021: This stoppage has been completed. We have successfully managed to complete these works ahead of schedule.

Following feedback from our customers and to provide further clarity, Bugsworth Basin will remain open with the exception of the upper basin during these planned works. Our teams will be draining the upper basin and we will be installing a dam at Bridge 61, Chinley Road Bridge. The lower and wide basin will remain open and are not affected by these works.

Description

Please be advised that our local team will be on site at Bugsworth Canal Basin Bridge 61, Chinley Road Bridge on the Peak Forest Canal.

Our local team will be carrying out construction work, taking down and rebuilding the wash wall.

All boats moored in the basin need to be moved out by 5th September 2021, it is anticipated that the work will be completed by 17th December.
