Description
Anglian Water have requested emergency 3rd party works to deal with a burst water main set under the road on the Bridge.
The navigation is being closed at this location as it is unknown what structural damage the burst water main has caused to the bridge. As well as this the use of heavy plant digging on the bridge means it is not safe to pass underneath.
We are working with Anglian water and their contractors to ensure as little disruption as possible is caused and we can reopen the navigation as soon as possible. At this time the estimate for repair completion is 5pm Monday. We will continue to update as we know more.
We realise this is not ideal at this point in the season, however public safety must be a priority.
