Cable Bridge crossing canal 200 metres South of Bridge 109c, Cuckoo Rd, Star City, Birmingham & Warwick Junction Canal

The towpath and navigation will remain open. Contractors on behalf of Western Power Distribution will be constructing a temporary scaffold cable bridge across the canal and towpath. The temporary bridge construction will commence on 21st July 2021 and will take approximately 3 weeks to complete. Once the bridge is fully erected, it will be in place for approximately 12 months with ample headroom for the towpath and navigation users. The old existing cable bridge will be removed and a new one put in its place during this period. 

Towpath users and boating customers may encounter a short delay when certain activities take place; for example: the construction and dismantling of the temporary cable bridge and the renewal of the old cable bridge. Please be prepared to wait for a short while and follow directions given on site when passing through this work area. Update notices will be issued as and when necessary.
