We have been advised the third-party recovery company retrieving the vehicle from the canal between Lock 48 and Lock 49 on the Rochdale Canal will be onsite tomorrow, Saturday 3 July.
An update will be provided Monday 5 July to confirm.

As investigations continue with the removal of the vehicle from the canal, the navigation will remain closed between Lock 48 and Lock 49 on the Rochdale Canal.

Please be advised navigation is closed at Smithy Bridge, Bridge 54 on the Rochdale Canal due to a police incident.
