Pound between Lock 17 and Lock 18, Grand Union Canal

Water level between Lock 17 and 18, Grand Union Canal will be lowered from 5pm on 24th June until the following morning, 25th June 2021. The towpath will be unaffected and remain open.

Essential works are required to replace a valve at Bascote Pumping Station in order to maintain water resources for navigation. The works have been planned for the evening and night-time to minimise disruption.

The works will be undertaken directly below Lock 17. Water levels will be significantly lowered between Lock 17 and 18 for the duration of the works. Boating customers are advised not to moor in the pound until water levels are returned to normal the following day.
