Please be advised that the works have been extended to 22nd October 2021 to allow contractors to remove the high-rise scaffolding and install a lower scaffolding protection platform over the canal and towpath to protect our customers from the works above.

Access to the towpath and canal will still be maintained with a slight restriction to accommodate the scaffolding support

We politely request all customers to approach the area with caution and listen to the advice given by the contractors

Please take note of the warning signs that will be placed in advance of the works

Description

Please be advised third-party contractors will be onsite to install high rise scaffolding at the St James Building in Manchester that spans the canal.

The works will be oversailing from Bridge 98, Oxford Road Bridge to Lock 88, Oxford Street on the Rochdale Canal to allow for essential repairs to be carried out to the third-party owned building.

A scaffolding protection platform will also be installed over the canal to protect our canal customers from the works above.

Warning signs will be in placed in advance of the works

Whilst both the towpath and navigation will remain open, we politely request all customers to approach the area with caution and listen to any advice that may be given by the contractors on site.
