Description

Please be advised Third-party contractors will be onsite between Bridge 96A, Kings bridge and bridge 96B, Moorgate Fold Bridge on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal to carry out essential work on the boundary wall of the New Wellington Street development in Blackburn.

The third-party contractors will be using scaffolding to access to the boundary wall of the new Wellington Street development. The works include reducing the overall height of the wall whilst retaining the coping stones from a heritage point of view. The removed stonework will be used to replace the defected sections, refurbish the remainder and replace the historic openings that have subsequently been bricked up.

Although the navigation will remain open, towpath users will be restricted to a 1.5m width, we politely request all customers to approach the area with caution, to listen to any advice that may be given by the third-party contractors onsite and be prepared to wait if necessary.
