Canal Turn (Opposite Premier Inn), Nottingham - Nottingham Beeston Canal

As part of the development of the Island Quarter, contractors Land & Water will be installing a new offside waterway wall to support the new step-free access and associated pavilion building on the offside of the canal. 

This will involve the use of a substantial pontoon in the water with a crane mounted on top. 

It is anticipated that the pontoon will be removed from the water by the 9th April and the remaining works to the wall carried out from the land or with limited water-borne plant.  

Please slow down on approach to the turn.  Manoeuvring space will be extremely limited during the works making this bend potentially difficult to navigate. 

Banksmen will be present during the works to act as look-outs for oncoming craft.
