Description

We are pleased to advise that towpath improvement works between Sellars Bridge and Rea Bridge are due to commence on site from Monday 15th March, with an expected programme of 14 weeks.

Unfortunately this does mean that the towpath will need to be closed for the duration of the works and the moorings suspended at times, to keep everyone safe from the heavy plant working on the narrow path.

Access will be maintained (via a locked gate ) for the residents of properties situated immediately north of Sellars bridge and for the moorings at Sellars Bridge (i.e. within 200m of the bridge), and a direct diversion route between Sellars and Rea Bridges is available via a pedestrian / cycle track that runs parallel to the canal at the back of Quedgeley.

A small compound and parking for contractors’ vehicles will be provided in Rea Bridge car park, but we expect some visitor parking to remain available.
