Due to the recent unexpected weather, the works at Torksey have unfortunately had to be pushed back by 4 weeks.
The construction start date, weather depending, is now scheduled for the week commencing 8th March 2021.
We apologise for an inconvenience these delays may cause.
Description
The Environment Agency have a scheme at Torksey to repair some flood embankments.
The Environment Agency are working to reduce the flood risk in your local area to better protect people and property from flooding. They will reduce flood risk by constructing and maintaining flood defences, providing flood warnings and advice and responding to flood incidents.
They will be building a permanent solution using a combination of sheet piling and bank reinstatement. The construction start date, weather depending, is scheduled for the week commencing 8th February 2021.
They will be using some of our land on the northern bank adjacent to the Flood Gates for a site compound.
They will be ensuring that access to/from the mooring pontoons will be maintained throughout the works.
The construction is programmed to start on the 8th February and take approximately 16 weeks, it will not reduce the flood protection provided to the community.
Safe systems of work will be put in place during the current Coronavirus pandemic.
Normal working hours within the site shall be:
Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm with no working on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays.
