Canal embankment adjacent to Alexander Stadium, Tame Valley Canal

The navigation and towpath remain open.

Arboriculture contractors working on behalf of Birmingham City Council to deliver the Commonwealth Games will be removing vegetation and trees at the toe of the embankment. An independent ecologist will be onsite Saturday 19th September to check for nesting birds. If no active nests are found, works will start on Monday 21st September to remove the vegetation.
