The final gate quadrant has been fixed in place this afternoon. However, it will not be safe to re-open the lock until the gates have been fully tested and any necessary adjustments made. As a result, we may need to postpone the re-opening of the navigation until the end of day on Monday 15th February but will do so sooner if at all possible.
We do apologise for this further delay.

Unfortunately we haven't been able to open the navigation today, as expected, due to continuing delays resulting from high water levels.
However, the new gates have now been transported to site and lifted into position. This week we will be completing both gate quadrants and hope to re-open the navigation on Friday 12th February.
We appreciate your patience during these very difficult conditions.

Further delays with the manufacture of the new gates and current flooding issues means we expect to require an additional 10 days to complete the works at Hunts Small Lock. As a result, the stoppage will be extended until 8th February.

Unfortunately we have encountered some unforeseeable issues with the manufacture of the new gates which will cause a delay to the completion of this stoppage. Please note the revised end date.
Additional quadrant repair work will now also take place whilst the navigation is closed.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the extension of the closure.
