We are pleased to announce that Lock 60, Winkwell Lock has re-open to the navigation. Our contractor has successfully removed the coping stone that was affecting the gate operation.    Thanks for your patience and understanding.

07/08/2020 16:06

Due to a boater colliding with the copings, which caused them to be dislodged and fall into the canal, we have had to restrict the navigation at lock 60.

Currently lock 60 is not open for wide beam passage.

This notice will be updated when a confirmed date on site is finalised.

06/08/2020 17:03

We have tried to move the coping stuck behind the towpath side gate today by hand and unfortunately it is still impeding on gate operation. Contractors are being instructed to action. Lock is not open to wide beams currently. Notice will be updated when a confirmed date on site is finalised.
