We are pleased to advise works to repair the top gate slam post at Lock 50, Lawton Top Towpath Side Lock on the Trent & Mersey Canal have been successful and the lock is back in operation.

Please be advised, due to arising emergency works within the North West, works to repair the top gate slam post at Lock 50, Lawton Top Towpath Side Lock on the Trent & Mersey Canal will start week commencing Monday 31 August.
Please continue to use Lock 50, Lawton Top Offside Lock for navigation.
An update will be provided Friday 4 September.

The scheduled repair was delayed due to the coronavirus crisis, however we are planning a repair within the next 4 weeks. An update will be provided Friday, 7 August.
