Unfortunately, this towpath improvement work has to be rescheduled. We will update our stoppage website with new information when update becomes available.

Please be advised that this towpath upgrade project will now take place from Monday 14th September to Friday 6th November.

Description

The towpath and all access points onto and off the canal along the construction site will be closed. Diverting signage will be placed in advance of the works. Workboats are being utilised to undertake the towpath improvements, so there may be short delays whilst boats are being loaded/ unloaded within this area. Please observe local diversions or seek alternative routes.

This project is funded by Rural Development Programme England, working in conjunction with the Canal & River Trust, to construct an all-round multi user pathway and improved access. Way finding and welcome signages will also be installed. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
