Our maintenance team have managed to do a temporary repair at Stoke Lock, which means the lock is now operational.
Please proceed with care.

Further to our original notice, we can confirm that the spear rod has been bent and the lock gates have been damaged at Stoke Lock.
This unfortunately means boaters cannot use Stoke Lock until further notice.
Due to Covid-19 and the need for a workboat to carry out these works, we cannot currently set a time scale for completion. However, we are working hard to plan this job as quickly as possible and as soon as we have an update on when these works can be carried out, we will amend this website notice.
Please note that if you are planning to book through Holme Lock, this stoppage may affect your journey.
Description
Due to damage caused to the topside gate paddle Stoke
Lock will be closed until we are able to complete repairs.
Boaters will be unable to use the lock until the damage is repaired. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
