Harecastle Tunnel opening times

From Wednesday 8th July, booking slots for passage through the tunnel will be available for seven days a week, from 8 am until 2 pm.

Please be advised our booking slots are available between 8am and 12noon on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday only. All passages must be pre-booked by email [email protected] or call 03030 404040.

Passage through the tunnel is available via a booking system only. Your boat must have a working front light and horn or you will not be allowed to enter the tunnel. Unfortunately, we are not able to safely lend these items out at the moment.

Bookings will only be available during the following days and time:

Monday - 9 am till 1 pm

Wednesday - 9 am till 1 pm

Friday - 9 am till 1 pm

Saturday - 9 am till 1 pm

Please be mindful that our staff have been instructed to remain 2 metres away from others when instigating communications and interacting with our customers. Please respect this personally safety zone.

From Wednesday 13 May our canals and rivers are open for navigation. Our towpaths are also open for exercise or journeys to undertake essential work, but please try to avoid any stretches with boats moored against the towpath.
