Unfortunately, when the navigation was dewatered at Bridge 97, large voids were found behind the stonework of one of the abutments. These need to be grouted but, as the bridge is Grade II listed, permission had to be sought before the additional work could commence.
As a result, we will need extra time to complete the repairs but we expect to open the navigation on 24th December.
Carry out maintenance of the concrete channel and repairs to prevent leakage.
