Updates

21/12/2020 12:21

The repairs to Aubrey's Lift Bridge at Thrupp, which were previously postponed, have now been re-programmed for the new year to tie in with our stoppage at Dukes Lock and Bridge 233.

The navigation will now be fully closed at Thrupp from Monday 1st March until Friday 12th March 2021. The towpath will remain open during the works.

From 12th March until 31st March 2021, there will be restricted passage whilst repairs to the bridge are completed.

Further information will be published early in the new year.

04/12/2020 11:57

We are sorry to report that repairs to Aubrey's Lift Bridge have not been able to start as hoped, due to continuing issues with the supply of materials and equipment required by our contractors to carry out the work. As a result, this stoppage will have to be deferred until the new year, and we hope to begin work in mid January, at the same time as our closure at Dukes Lock and Bridge 233. As soon as we have confirmed dates and further information, we will re-publish this notice. In the meantime, the navigation will remain open and the bridge can be used as normal. Please accept our sincere apologies for any confusion caused by this change to the planned work.

11/11/2020 15:21

Due to unexpected delays in the delivery of essential electrical equipment, we will be unable to start work at Aubrey's Lift Bridge until 16th November.

The end date of the closure will not be affected, as the installation of the equipment will not take as long as originally anticipated.

We apologise for any inconvenience this delayed start may have caused.

Description

A stoppage is required for the installation of new hydraulic, electrical and traffic control systems.
