Our engineers have re-assessed the work that needs to be carried out this winter at Marple Locks.
We will now be undertaking masonry repairs at Lock 1, Bottom Lock, and brickwork repairs at Bridge 16, Bottom Lock Bridge.
The timing of this stoppage has not been affected.
Description
Carry out works at Marple Locks, including:
Lock 1 - Re-position oversailing coping stones. (Please note the towpath will be closed in this area.)
Lock 6 - Grouting and brickwork repointing of the lock chamber walls.
Lock 7 - Grouting and brickwork repointing of the lock chamber walls.
Lock 9 - Repairs to the lock bywash.
