Barnby Dun Lift Bridge, Sheffield & South Yorkshire Navigation

Unfortunately, due to further delays with the delivery from Europe of essential parts for the new hanger rods, we will be unable to complete repairs at Barnby Dun Lift Bridge as expected. 

However, additional teams will be brought in to assist on the project and we will work through the weekends to enable the repairs to be completed as quickly as possible. 

We hope to re-open the navigation on 29th March 2021.

Unfortunately, issues and delays with the delivery of some key parts for the replacement hanger rods means our programme of works for lift bridge repairs has been affected, and our stoppage dates need to be put back.

Please note the revised dates for this closure.

A stoppage is required to enable the replacement of worn hanger rods.
