We have made changes to the booking procedures for Lock 1E. From the 7th May, bookings will be made online with 48hr notice given for passage. We will have one AM passage at 0900 and one PM passage at 1500.

This will help manage water levels on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal and will provide enough notice to coordinate our Huddersfield Broad Rangers who will be supporting us at this lock.

Lock 1E is operational, however due to fluctuating water levels passage through the lock requires booking. Please contact us on 0303 0404040 to arrange passage during the hours of 0800-1600.

Due to fluctuating water levels Lock 1 is non operational and is closed to navigation. If anyone requires passage please contact our team on 0303 0404040.

Due to fluctuating water levels Lock 1 is now non operational and is closed to navigation.

There will be no emergency passage whilst the repair works at Lock 5 are occurring. We hope for this repair work to be completed on Sunday 5th July 1800hrs.

Emergency passage requests will recommence on Monday 6th July by contacting the team on 0303 0404040

Description

Due to fluctuating water levels Lock 1 is now non operational and is closed to navigation. If anyone requires emergency passage through for essential services such as water, pump out or waste, please contact our team on 0303 0404040

Please remember our advice - only move your boat if it's essential (not for leisure purposes) and minimise your use of the towpath.

If you are not currently occupying your boat the government guidance is that you must not visit it (this means no short trips or breaks on your boat at this time).

Please follow the government advice – stay at home, protect the NHS, save lives.
