We are pleased to be able to extend the opening hours for the Foxton Flight from Monday 20th July.

The new opening hours will be 10:00 with the last boat in at 17:15, 7 days a week. You do not need to book passage through the locks in advance.

Please book in with the on-duty lock-keeper on arrival.  You will then be informed when you will be able to passage through the flight.   The lock-keeper will be sequencing boats going up and down the flight to maximise the number of boats able to transit in the day. We will endeavour to allow as many boats as possible through the flight each day, however it may not always be possible to allow everyone through before the site closes. In this case you will be asked to wait until the following day.

Please contact us on 0303 040 4040 or by emailing [email protected] with any questions.

We are keeping our response to the pandemic under constant review and may change our position according to latest government advice.

Following the announcement from the Prime Minister, private boaters may undertake short boating trips – avoiding use of locks and any staff-operated structures if possible – providing, as per current government guidance, they do not stay away from home overnight and return to their home mooring (where they have one).

From 01/06/2020 our navigations have re-opened in full, subject to some local exceptions, making longer journeys possible.

Foxton locks will continue to operate on a booked basis until further notice.

Please contact us on 0303 040 4040 or by emailing [email protected] to arrange passage.

Please note that passage will only be possible Monday to Friday. Passage will be available to book starting at 10:30 with the last boat in at 14:15. You must book by 16:00 the working day before you wish to travel through the locks.

Description

Following the announcement from the Prime Minister (8.30pm, 23 March 2020) regarding the UK’s response to the coronavirus crisis, we are asking leisure boaters to stop all non-essential travel and not to visit their boats if they do not live aboard permanently.

This means that passage through Foxton locks will be limited to essential movement to reach facilities or relocate, and will only be available on a booked basis.

Please contact us on 0303 040 4040 or by emailing [email protected] to arrange passage for essential travel only.

Please note that passage will only be possible Monday to Friday between the hours of 11:00 and 15:00. You must book by 16:00 the day before you wish to travel through the locks.
