Due to continued works the restriction will be extended and the pontoon platform will be sited over both sides of the pier.
Description
Please be advised third-party contractors will be onsite between Bridge 51, and Bridge 50 on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal to enable access to the canal side elevation and existing timber piers for refurbishment works to the existing Wigan Pier.
- Pier 2 and 3 is the 9th March 2020 to 10th April 2020
- Pier 5 is 10th April 2020 to 15th May 2020
To be able to carry out the necessary works, a pontoon will be in place. We politely request both towpath and canal users to approach the area with caution and boaters to reduce speed on approach.
