Due to the current covid-19 pandemic and associated restrictions on non-essential work, Canal & River Trust has postponed the towpath and access improvements underway between Station Road in Hayes and Old Stockley Road near Stockley Park on the Grand Union Canal until further notice.

The site works have been demobilised and the towpath reopened in the interim period. We will resume the work to bring better towpaths to West London as soon as we are able and it is safe to do so.

Description

The Trust is commencing the next phase of the Quietways programme along the Grand Union Canal, which involves towpath widening, resurfacing and improvements to the Printing House Lane access ramp.

From 9 March to 26 June 2020, all moorings and access points onto and off the canal will be closed between the stated points to enable construction work to take place.

We kindly ask customers to observe local diversion map or seek alternative routes.
