Description

A stoppage is required to enable the dewatering of the canal in order to expose the pumping station outfall structure. We will then carry out removal of debris, cleaning and surveys of the structure to investigate issues with the penstock valve and leakage through the wall.

Whilst the navigation is dewatered, we also hope to carry out an inspection of the Lock 50 gate, paddle and cill, and carry out localised repairs if needed.

The towpath will remain open during these works, and a safety fence will be erected along the towpath edge.
