Kennet & Avon Canal - Semington Pumping Station - Inlet

Please be advised that the towpath will be closed for a short length between Bridges 159 and 160, whilst we carry out important works to the pumping station inlet at Semington. The works will involve forming a dam around the inlet which will obstruct access to the unofficial winding hole at Bridge 160.

With the dam in place, we plan to clear all debris from the inlet, carry out repairs to the structure and finally complete a survey of the site.

The Canal will remain open throughout, but will be restricted locally. We ask all vessels to navigate slowly with caution while passing the site, and to please listen to any advice from the local team.
