Update:
The Hertford Union Towpath that is due to be carried out by Kier Minor will keep the towpath open.
Works are now due to start on the 3.2.2020 and complete on the 9.3.2020.

Description
Please be advised:
The Hertford Union Canal Towpath project will be carried out by Kier Minor works to deliver towpath improvements around the junction of the Hertford Union Canal and the River Lee Navigation between White Post Lane (Lee Navigation) and Bridge 6 on the (Hertford Union).
The works comprise the following:
Installation of a concrete slab on the towpath under the A12 to address puddling Surface improvements at White Post Lane and replacing handrails
Surface improvements from White Post Lane to Bridge 10
Works to remove trip hazards around bottom gates of Lock 3, Bottom lock
Improve Wick Lane Ramp and surfacing at the base of the ramp.
Towpath users are advised to observe local signage and diversion plan.
The navigation will remain open and towpath will be closed for certain operations.
